Why is Google Earth (version 5.0) so terrible?
I just downloaded it and, while the 3-d buildings feature and underwater feature is great, basic navigation is TERRIBLE. Who designed this thing??? There is no more on screen + and - that fine tunes how high or low your perspective is. Now you just use the wheel on your mouse, which raises and lowers the altitude in THOUSANDS of feet each turn, and denies you the ability to raise or lower just a few feet at a time.
There's also no more on screen North, South, East, West wheel, which easily allowed you to turn 360 degrees and at various angles with pinpoint precision. WTF?
I don't know what's wrong with yours, but the navigation bar IS on my version. Go to View, then Show Navigation and check Always.
