Sport Divers: The rescue certification important?

Right now I'm stuck if I continue my Deep Dive or stress and specialty Rescue first ... Given my background in combat diving, I know how to save a buddy hit if needed, including making buddy breathing (on a buddy conscious) with a single regulator. But certification really matter?

If you ever plan to move up the food chain, past Advanced is.It yeah it 's requirements for becoming a PADI Master Dive Master, and so on. No training organizations will consider your military experience, like the military would not consider a civilian environment cert. They tell you to forget what you learned, now you do it our way. Get your deep out of the way first and go to the rescue. If the instructor is good, this weekend diving will make you think you're in Boot camp once again. It's stressful and physically. My opinion is that the rescue anyone who is able to do so. Having a diver on a lifeboat certified puts great weight to the plunger / DM. More the merrier and the better chance at a good outcome for any situation where there is a diver in distress at issue. You were USN demo, you were not a Cell?
