Sheriff Dive
How does one get into a law enforcement diving (SCUBA) rescue & salvage team position?
I understand one must ordinarily become a deputy sheriff first, but beyond that, is it an internal hiring practice, with inter-departmental application, or is it annual recruitment, or anything or that sort?
I don't know about other places, but here the rescue dive teams are on the fire department, not the police department. They are regular fireman, and apply for the dive team openings as they become available.
