Sick from doctors office?????
Can illness, bacteria, viruses, and contagious germs be transmitted on one of those thermometers in the doc. office? The ones where they put the metal-looking thing into a hard plastic sheath before putting it into your mouth? I just asked because I was thinking that they don't wash the metal things when they are done. Do they even have to if they use the hard plastic covering?
Also, what are the chances of getting sick if they use the coverings each and every time?
What you are talking about is a nosocomial infection, or getting sick from going to the doctors or the hospital. You most likely will not get sick from the thremometer sheaths because they never touch hands. The thermometer probe goes into the box and the sheath goes into the trash when it is finished being used.
